April 8 - The Belarus Telegraph Agency (BelTA) quoted a senior military official today announcing that Russia is scheduled to deliver a shipment of S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile systems to
Belarus, as part of an integrated air-defense agreement between the two former Soviet republics.
Senior commander of the Belarus Air Force and Air Defense Forces, Igor Azarenok, said that the Defense Ministries for both countries were currently discussing the delivery terms.
The S-400 is capable of intercepting airborne targets at distances up to 400 kilometers, and destroying stealth aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
The agreement between Russia and Belarus is expected to pass through both countries' Parliaments for ratification sometime in May.
